Bagpipe Tuner

Purpose: A separate tuning helper for pitch reference. It is not the digital practice-chanter calibration path used by Note Blaster and Battle, and it may still be rough — set expectations accordingly.

For games and verified pitch matching, use Manage Chanters → Chanter Test instead. See Calibrate → test → play.

Steps

1. Open the Tuner and select your input device.
2. Set reference and enable drone mode if tuning drones first.
3. Play a steady note and adjust until the pitch indicator centers.
4. Repeat for remaining notes and drones.

Tips

• Keep the mic at a consistent distance and angle when using acoustic sources.
• Tune drones to a stable reference before the chanter when that workflow helps.

Troubleshooting

• No input: verify permissions and input selection.
• Erratic readings: lower input gain; move the mic off-axis slightly.
• Need reliable game detection? That is a Manage Chanters / Chanter Test job, not the tuner.
